Brow Lift Surgery
In Tucson
If your face looks tired, angry, or sad, a brow lift can help. Over time, your eyebrows can slowly sag toward your eyes causing your upper eyelids to bunch and fold. As a result, your face can develop deep frown lines. At Sandeen and Lee Plastic Surgery, our board-certified plastic surgeons have outstanding surgical expertise and can help correct this sagging. Our dedicated team will give you personal attention and a unique treatment plan that is customized for you to restore a more youthful appearance.
What Is A Brow Lift?
A brow lift, sometimes called a forehead lift, aims to minimize wrinkles and creases across the forehead and bridge of the nose. During a brow lift, your surgeon will lift deep tissue layers and muscles in the forehead. This procedure will tighten the forehead which will then become smoother and better contoured.
An endoscopic brow lift is a less invasive surgery that is performed with an endoscope. Small incisions are made in the scalp and muscle, tissue, and skin are repositioned or removed using specialized instruments. Any scarring is well concealed and the recovery time is shorter.
During a coronal brow lift, your surgeon will make a single, large incision beginning at ear level and going up across the top of the head. As with the endoscopic lift, the scalp, muscles, tissue, and skin are repositioned and the eyebrows are lifted. We then remove any excess skin and close the incision. The incision is concealed in the hair and the natural contours of the face.
Dysport and facial fillers can also help raise the brow area. This is especially helpful in patients where the brow has dropped because of a loss of volume. Restoring this volume can lift the area and improve the contour of the eyebrows.
Other options are mid-forehead, direct, trichophytic, or pretrichial lifts. With all of our forehead lifts, incisions are normally closed with absorbable sutures, skin adhesives, special clips, or removable stitches.
Benefits Of A Brow Lift
The effects of aging happen to everyone and very often the brow and forehead area are the first to show signs of this. Your forehead gains frown lines and wrinkles and your brow becomes increasingly heavy. Your friends or coworkers may mistake your appearance as tired, angry, or sad. A forehead lift can correct this and restore your self-confidence. When you get a brow lift it not only changes how you look, but also changes how you feel about yourself.
Brow lifts are frequently performed with other types of plastic surgery, such as eyelid surgery and facelifts, to help you achieve the best results.
Recovery From A Brow Lift
Recovery time from your cosmetic surgery will vary and will depend on what type of lift you had done and whether or not your lift was combined with any other surgical procedures. After your surgery you will be given instructions on how to care for your surgical sites, including any medications that you are to take or apply. We will also inform you of concerns and side effects to look for on the treated areas or in your general health and when to follow up with your cosmetic surgeon. Returning to work will likely depend on the nature of your work, how physical your work is, and your tolerance to pain. We will do everything we can to make sure you are comfortable and will discuss your individual treatment plan with you.
Will Insurance Cover A Brow Lift?
No, insurance will not typically cover this type of procedure, but we do offer financing options through Care Credit to help you achieve your goals. Contact our office for details.
